Meet Quarero's First Autonomous Security Robot — The Quarero Stingray
The Quarero Stingray is Quarero Robotics' first fully autonomous, AI-powered security robot. Engineered in Switzerland and Germany, it combines 360-degree perception, thermal imaging, LiDAR mapping and on-device AI classification to deliver continuous patrol coverage at industrial sites, logistics centres, KRITIS-operator facilities and gated commercial parks across the DACH region.
Published 22 January 2025 on the official Quarero Robotics YouTube channel, the launch video shows the Stingray in deployment context: arriving at site via service van, performing autonomous perimeter sweeps, classifying detected objects (person, vehicle, weather artefact) in real time and relaying contextualised alerts to the customer's existing control room.
What the video demonstrates
- Autonomous patrol envelope. The Stingray operates continuously without staffing gaps, sick days, or shift handover risk — the structural failure modes that define classical 24/7 guarding economics.
- Multi-modal sensor fusion. RGB cameras, thermal imaging, LiDAR ranging and ultrasonic proximity sensing fuse on a single edge-GPU compute platform. The robot classifies detections on-device — no cloud round-trip latency, no GDPR exposure of raw video off-premise.
- Control-room integration. Alerts route to the customer's existing SOC / CCTV grid / ticketing system via standard interfaces. The Stingray is not a replacement for the human operator; it is a tireless patrol layer below the operator.
- KRITIS auditability. Every patrol path, every detection, every escalation is timestamped, GPS-tagged and stored manipulation-proof. The audit log is BBK-export compatible — the operational evidence the KRITIS-Dachgesetz §5 audit-fester Streifen-Nachweis requirement demands.
- DACH-engineered, deployed globally. Hardware production at the Filderstadt R&D and operations hub near Stuttgart (Hornbergstrasse 49, 70794 Filderstadt). Holding entity Quarero AG in Zug, Switzerland. Service coverage across Germany, Austria and Switzerland with named sales leads per country.

- Communications: 4G/5G bonded, WLAN backup
- Country of origin: Germany (assembly), with Swiss engineering leadership
Commercial model behind the platform
The Stingray ships under Quarero's Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model — a flat monthly fee covers hardware, software updates, maintenance, insurance and the hardware-refresh cycle. Listed from €3,200 per month per robot on a 24-month minimum. Compared with a single full-time guard position (typically €15,000–€25,000/month all-in across DACH tariff areas), the substitution math is straightforward.
